Crighton Ridge Homeowners Association
Board of Directors

In the early years of Crighton Ridge, all decisions as to the running of the subdivision were made by Trendmaker Development. When the subdivision was built out in 2006, Trendmaker turned control over to a residential board of directors and funded the infant homeowners association with over $40,000 to give it a solid financial foundation.

The Board of Directors of the Crighton Ridge Homeowners Association is composed of three members, each duly elected at the Annual Meeting in accordance with the Bylaws of the Crighton Ridge Homeowners Association. The directors (board members) will serve two-year staggered terms, so that each year a minimum of one-third of the board members’ terms shall expire. The powers and duties of the board members are listed in the Bylaws.

Larry Knigge – elected 2006, term of office expires at the end of 2010. Larry lives in Section 2. My wife Carolyn Knigge and I moved to Crighton Ridge in December, 2004. Most of my career has been spent in the credit industry. I spent 15 years in different management positions with the Credit Bureau of Greater Houston, and was managing partner in a mortgage credit reporting company for 10 years. For the past 5 years I have done consulting work for the mortgage and credit industry.

At the time that we moved to Crighton Ridge in 2004, I was serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the city of Oak Ridge North. In the 1980's I was on the Board of the Woodland Trails Community Improvement Association in Houston.

I believe that deed restrictions are vital to maintain our property values, and that fair and consistent (not selective) enforcement of our deed restrictions must be a priority. Another of my priorities is to continue our efforts to improve both the quality and the "price" of our water service, and in the past I have made the trip to Austin to attend a TCEQ hearing concerning AquaTexas and our water rates. Lastly, another priority is the prudent and conservative use of our association dues. Email Larry Knigge

John Dale – elected 2007, term of office expires at the end of 2011. John lives in Section 3. My wife Stephanie, along with our 2 girls, moved to Crighton Ridge in July of 2006. We currently attend Crossroads Baptist Church in The Woodlands. For the past 9 years, I have been a Field Specialist for a manufacturer of industrial wood waste processing equipment.

The main reason why I joined the board is so that I can get involved where I live. This is great place to live and it is important to keep it that way. It is easy to criticize, condemn or complain. I believe that it is important for people to be involved. Suggestions or ideas are needed along with involvement. The monies collected from our HOA are needed in order to run the “business” of Crighton Ridge. It is not to run a “Concierge” service. Residents need to be involved so that our standards are maintained while keeping the HOA fees reasonable. Email John Dale

Glenn Masterson - elected 2009, term of office expires at the end of 2011. Glenn lives in Section 1. My wife Rosalie and I moved to Crighton Ridge in 2005 from the Old Oaks area on 1969, where I served on the Water Board for 4 years. I live at 8760 Skyline Lane and can be reached at 936-539-1696.

I believe that it is critical that we enforce the deed restrictions that keep our home values high and ensure that we can continue to enjoy this beautiful community far into the future. Email Glenn Masterson

Each Board member is elected at the Annual Meeting (which usually takes place in October), then attends at least one Board meeting as an observer before taking office in January. This practice allows for a smooth transition between one Board and the next.

The management company makes monthly reports to each Board member. These reports itemize all transactions, financial and otherwise, recorded by the management company, and the Board need not meet to receive these reports.

The number of Board meetings is not fixed in the Bylaws; meetings are scheduled as needed to address concerns. Typically, Board meetings take place at least quarterly. Residents are welcome to attend any board meeting, although portions of the board meeting may be designated as private and not shared with residents. Private portions of a board meeting are those in which personal information, such as deed restriction violations or non-payment of assessments, are scheduled to be addressed. Residents wishing to attend the public portion of a board meeting, or wishing to bring a matter before the board, may petition the board through the management company to attend the next board meeting, or to request that a meeting be scheduled.

The Board oversees the actions of the management company, as well as the actions of the committees of the Homeowners Association. The Board is responsible for choosing which companies will provide services for the Homeowners Association, and for making decisions about matters that are brought to its attention by residents or by the management company. It prepares a budget and presents it to the members of the Homeowners Association at the Annual Meeting (to see more about the Annual Meeting, click on Events on the sidebar at the left).

A copy of the budget is provided to each homeowner at the Annual Meeting. You may download a copy of the 2008 budget from the link below.

Each Board member has a set of keys to the neighborhood Message Boards. Any person who wants to post a message may do so by contacting a board member. Messages must be approved by a majority of board members, and must be judged to be of general interest to the neighborhood.

No Board member receives financial compensation for the work he or she does on behalf of Crighton Ridge. Any member of the Crighton Ridge Homeowners Association may run for office by submitting his or her name to the management company at least one month prior to the Annual Meeting for inclusion on the ballot, or by being nominated from the floor of the Annual Meeting.

We certainly appreciate our hard-working Board members!
